Today's November word was "book/page" and Dixie has also posted a challenge entitled "Self Storage" which features things which you've collected and how they represent you, so it seemed logical to me to combine the two. I do love books (I have a rather extensive collection of them!), and perhaps this one most of all. It's my Bible and I was busily reading and studying parts of the Christmas story today while I was writing up our Advent devotional. This year we're looking at the events surrounding the birth of Christ through some of the Christmas carols. I'm really enjoying learning about the history behind these beautiful songs. So, between my Bible and my hymnal, my fingers ran across a lot of pages today!
The leaves of the book look such good quality! Will last for a long time provided the binding is still good! I agree with the story of the Christmas songs - all need explanation!
Thank you Taffy, Brian, Lisa, Kerri, Maggie, Sally, Timothy, Yao, Jennifer, Alia, Dione, Donald, Alice, and Katie! All comments so very much appreciated!! And for those who asked, I will post them on their respective Advent Sundays in December for you to enjoy.
@pflaume Thank you Lisa! I tried to be very aware of the way the light was falling across the pages, so I'm glad you liked it! @pandorasecho Thank you Dixie! I'm planning to make Saturday Self-storage day. I'm enjoying the time off from challenges but this one had a nice "getting to know you" side of it, so I committed to one day in your honor!
@cimes1 Thank you Carole! It is certainly a special one to me. @nathanheustis Thank you Nathan and thank you so much for the fav!! @prttblues Thank you Bev!
@bruni Thanks Bruni! Yes, I'll post the devotionals on the day they were written for. Advent begins on December 1 this year. I'll try to remember to come back to this shot and tag all those who were interested.
@summerfield Thank you Vikki! It's funny- this was taken so quickly as I'd spent most of the day writing. The lighting is also such a funny thing- it's coming from the computer screen!
