Just wanted to say thanks to all the Vets- here on 365 and all around the world who have kept freedom alive through their sacrifice and service.
Some gave their all
Some are still giving
Some gave and are still living
But they all gave and for that I am grateful.
Jeff and I took our sons to the ticker tape parade that was held in NYC after Desert Storm. One NY paper was giving out these posters with yellow ribbons- a symbol for returning soldiers, or the hope of their return. After the parade we ended up over by the Hudson River and we met some WWII vets and asked them to autograph our poster. They were very surprised that we called them heroes- a reaction we get from many WWII vets who say, "I was just serving my country". Although I was actually looking for a picture of my father when he was in the service, when I found this, I thought it would be just as powerful to post. I added the poppy for the Nominate 4 November word list. Thank you once again to all of our servicemen and women- past, present and future.
Thank you Lisa, Brian, Hope, Bev, Alia, Dione, Rick, Kerri and Donald!
Thank you Timothy- and you're welcome!
Thank you Bruni!
