@jmrittle Thank you Marc! The simplicity of it just struck a chord and I took the shot. I had in my mind to process it as an old photo and it worked just as I expected it to.
@homeschoolmom Thank you Lisa! This one was processed in Picmonkey right here on 365. I like their Dauggertype effects. There's a little sepia thrown on this one too for good measure. @digitalrn Thank you Rick! @kerristephens Thanks Kerri! @archaeofrog Thank you Katie! @bkbinthecity Thank you Brian! It's a quaint little place that I know you and Melody would enjoy. @summerfield LOL Vikki! I am trying to be good and stay away from sweets for a little while and you go and mention cake!
@maggiemae Thank you Maggie! I actually have a rather nice collection of hats and I used to wear them all the time. Perhaps this Spring I shall pull them out again!
@luvmynynix Thanks Laurie! The effect is called Dauggertype (I probably spelled that wrong) or Faded Dauggertype (Can't quite remember) and there are 3 different types to choose from. I think this one is "shiro" but I could be wrong. The other two are in a black and white format. This one is in sepia. The hat was brown so I chose the sepia application. There is also a Dauggertype frame- which is what I think I used here. I took the shot in color, converted it to sepia, applied a small brown/sepia colored vignette and then added the dauggertype frame. It's been a few days so I'm not sure if that was the exact processing procedure or not- but processing is always a big experiment/adventure with me. Sometimes I know right away what outcome I want and other times, it's play with this, play with that until something strikes me. On this shot, I just knew I wanted that aged/vintage style of processing because the hat looked like it came from a long-gone era.
@olivetreeann thanks so much for al the info!! I feel the same way about sometimes knowing and sometimes playing! I love it when people share new ideas! Thanks again!

Thank you everyone! This was one of those subjects that you know you want to photograph the instant you see it. The processing was icing on the cake.
