I went on a photo shoot to a nearby state park with waterfalls with some camera club friends today. And I brought home a picture of a caterpillar. I guess that makes sense as I went Boston and brought home a pink pig with a tube around her waist.
Love the details!!! I hope you didn't touch this guy? They are poisonous if you didn't know? I have a couple photos of them too but didn't touch until I googled to find out what it was!! Mine are no where near as good as this photo! Fantastic macro, with incredible details.
Love the POV also!!! FAV!!!
My happy thanks to you all for the comments and views! And to answer the all important question- no, I did not know they were poisonous, but thankfully I did not touch him. I just photographed him!

The caterpillar that we always used for winter predictions was the Wooly Bear Caterpillar (fuzzy like this guy, but with two black bands surrounding one red band). What I always get mixed up is what predicts what. A thick red band predicts??? a long winter??? A thin red band predicts??? a short/mild winter??? That would be my guess. This is the first time I've ever seen one of these and I've never heard of any other caterpillar being used to predict winters.
@daisymiller Thanks Daisy! @yaorenliu Thank you Yao! I didn't make that up- that's its name. @vickisfotos Thank you Vicki and thank you for the fav! @mhatch Thanks Mark. Sort of a macro. I did put the camera down by him and take the shot. When I uploaded it, I also cropped it tighter so that it would make him larger. @bill_fe Thanks Bill! I am absolutely loving this new camera. @vega Thank you Vega!
@summerfield LOL No Marybeth trickery here. I don't go specifically looking for bugs, but if I see them and they look photogenic, well, you know I've got to take a shot. @rach_who Thanks Rach! Yes, stick your finger in a electrical socket and yours can look just like his! hehehe
