I've decided to join in the Black and White November challenge this week. The topic this week is landscapes or outdoor shots. After having my car checked out at the mechanic's today I decided to take advantage of the beautiful (and warm!) weather and head out to a portion of the Appalachian Trail that passes by the Delaware Water Gap. At first I was reluctant to climb the hill to the top of the ridge, but was so glad I forced myself to go. So many trees have become uprooted but the Park Service has done a great job in keeping the trail clear in some rather creative ways, such as this archway. I loved the way the afternoon sunlight filtered through the trees and on to the path. It had the appearance of leading you into an enchanted forest or magical kingdom, should you decide to venture beyond the tree...
Wow Ann this is such an amazing picture I love the archway and it looks incredible in b/w. Thanks for mentioning the warm weather you are having. We have snow here which unfortunately I think is here to stay. It is also very cold -22 C with the windchill
Oh yes, I would have ventured beyond the trees and entered that magical kingdom!!!!! I just LOVE this shot and especially in B/W!! Incredible picture and incredible eye to see it!! Big FAV!!
I can't thank you all enough for the wonderful comments and all those favs!! I really was thrilled to see this on the PP tonight! I didn't really think too much of this when I first took it, but once I saw it in the computer I fell in love with it, so to see your response to it, is "icing on the cake" as they say. Thank you soooo much!
@kt8ird Thanks Kate! @cashew Thank you Kathy! Well, if it made the top twenty that would be a bonafide miracle! I don't think I have enough followers to reach the mathematical statistics on that- but I appreciate your positive thoughts!
Oh wow! Great shot, Ann! Beautiful! Love that it's b&w. The texture pops out! Congrats on Trending AND Popular Pages! I hope that you got a screen shot of it! Fav!
@prttblues Thanks Bev! And thanks for the fav too! Hadn't thought about taking a shot of it there- I usually print them out! Will have to see if it's still there- it was a couple hours ago!
@yaorenliu Thank you Yao! You should have seen me though- I have arthritis in both knees, one hip and my hands. I can't climb stairs like I used to, so climbing the stairs and rocks is a huge challenge. I sat on my bum to come down! But yes, even though it was hard, and I did end up taking something for the pain later on, this shot made it so worth it! @andrewkru Thank you Andrew! @gratefulness Thank you Sandi! You would be brave enough for this. Once you get to the tree you can see the path quite well and it's really pretty! @annied Thank you Annie! @bill_fe Thank you Bill and likewise! I did see your covered bridge there, didn't I? @pools82 Thank you Mike!
@bill_fe Sometimes I think it's just as good to be there. People are still checking your shots out. @daisymiller Thank you Daisy and thank you so much for the fav!
