Sundays With Harold 4

Harold here everyone! It's Sunday and I'm in the featured spot of Miss Ann's 365 album again. We're quite proud of ourselves for meeting two challenges in one here. First of all we needed an "N" word today which took a bit of discussion, but finally we realized that as a well-rounded Hedgehog I am interested in many things in nature, particularly Erinaceidae, natural history and botany which makes me a Naturalist!

While I keep myself quite limber so that when I feel threatened I can roll up in a ball for protection, I do enjoy spending time outdoors and exploring places where bugs live. After all I am an insectivorous mammal! Don't let my spiny coat fool you. I'm actually quite docile and many folks enjoy having hedgehogs as a pets.

So naturally my portrait today is in black and white for Miss Summerfield's black and white month. But since we've photographed it out by the wood pile we've also accomplished the One Night Stand Challenge requirement of Urban or Rural. You can't get any more rural than a wood pile!
Super cute, great pov, love that angle!

I would say you've accomplished alot in your single image -- very well done!

love the melding of so many themes in one shot. I looked up erinaceidae and wished I had known this word when Liam was obessessed with hedgehogs. Good spot for a picture.

Awesome shot

Another great effort to achieve more than one thing with your image and it works. I don't see your hard earned work in your tags though.
Loving Harold, he is very cuddly.

Harold is my favorite hedgehog. :) It's so neat to see the textures from the woodpile. Your shot looks very nice in black and white.

Great pic of Harold :)

That is super cool & love what you have done with the processing!

Oh, I thought you were giving your feet a mud bath. A wood pile has to be dryer.

Hi Harold! what a lovely portrait, that goes so well with all the themes miss Ann has!

Cool narrative, Anne. Cute shot and framing.

aww! He is cute! How do they keep from getting poked with the spines when they keep these at pets? I am sure that is a dumb question, but we don't have these near us. I love your clever way to get at your two challenges!

Thank you to one and all from the bottom of Harold's hedgehog heart!

@dibzgreasley Thanks for spotting that Debs- it's fixed now.

@espyetta Thanks Marybeth. They are not like porcupines- more like a bristled brush. Other than Harold, the only hedgehog I've seen was years ago when a friend's son had one as a pet. I barely remember what it looked like- that's how long ago it was!

@summerfield

I see it!
November 26th, 2014
@daisymiller Thank you Daisy!
@summerfield Thank you Vikki! Harold wanted me to convey to you that he sees the "face" in the picture, but was far more interested in it as a piece of fungi when we took the shot. But thank you for your concern!
@vesna0210 Thanks Vesna!
@bill_fe Thank you Bill!
