I thought I would end my fourth year with a bang! I was set to write up a witty and thoughtful essay about the things I've learned this year and the impact so many of you have had on me. I was going to remember the fun meet-ups I've had and the absolute joy of FINALLY upgrading my camera and getting my first moon shot- a super moon, nonetheless! But for some reason I just kept dragging my heels all day and couldn't really get my energy up. It's just been that kind of month in many ways. The good thing is that time marches on...and year #5 starts tomorrow.
I find I have these times too and have learnt to just let them go! The incentive and bonhomie comes at its own will. Its like if you can't be bothered ironing, don't - there will come a time when you feel like doing it! Have a great New Year, Ann and may your 2015 be a fabulous one for you and your family!
Fabulous capture. I too had all sorts of ideas for what I wanted to post for 31 December and landed up not doing any of them! May 2015 be filled with love, laughter and good times!
@maggiemae Thank you Maggie! Excellent advice- especially about the ironing. (o: @gratefulness Thank you Sandi! Nothing serious- winter doldrums! @nanalisarocks Thank you Lisa! It's a huge milestone! @salza Thank you Sally! Yes, lots of plans; zero spunk! But as Maggie said, the best way to handle it is to just let it be. It comes back after a while. True in nature too- everything needs a winter- a time of rest before the next Spring. @vesna0210 Thank you Vesna! And the same to you and yours! @thistle Thank you Joyce! Wishing you the best in 2015 too! @nicolecampbell Thank you Nicole! It's a big milestone and I am looking forward to year 5- tackling the Rebel t3i. @ceilidh Thank you Margaret! And wishing you the same for the coming year! @kerristephens Thank you Kerri!
@nicoleterheide Thank you Nicole! @sfeldphotos Thank you Sam! I'll always remember to check in on you if you leave a comment on a shot. I don't always get to the home page but I do enjoy your unique perspective on things! @httpgeffed Thank you Colleen! Hope all is well with you and yours and that the winter has been kind to you so far! @fugitivemoments Thank you Linda! I am enjoying your project as well. Best wishes for 2015! @paulavdmerwe Thank you Paula! Wishing you and yours a wonderful year ahead. @rubicon Thank you Lynn! They were a bit tricky and I definitely want to get a better shot- but I'm waiting until mid-Spring/early summer when the temperature is more suitable outdoor photography! @kt8ird Thank you Kate! I am excited about year five as it will involve some serious learning- both in classes and from other photographers in the camera club. Thanks for being one of those I can always count on for a comment or two! @allie912 Thank you Allison! You've always been an anchor on my project and I can't tell you how I've appreciated it through the years!
@mrssmith203 Hi Carla! Not to worry- I'm just glad to see you here! First I know you had many more responsibilities in school this year, so I wasn't surprised to see you on here less. But you were never far from my thoughts and prayers and I knew you would catch up when you could. If you'd like to email me, feel free: Olivetreeann@mail.com
@francoise Thank you Francoise! It wasn't too many projects, it was too little energy! Wishing you and yours a Happy New Year too. @radiogirl Thanks Islandgirl! Same here!
i think it is because we have nothing to prove anymore. anything we try to accomplish would just be for our own selves. this feeling comes over me so many times, and i find it doesn't hurt our creativity a bit if we slug around. we've earned it, i suppose.
@homeschoolmom Thank you Lisa and thank you so much for the fav! Yes, I'm now in year #5- who knew it would come so quickly!
@summerfield Thanks Vikki! Might have been that I was lazy, might have been the aftermath of the cold, might have been the partial slump and downspot from the crazy Christmas and Christopher moving. Who knows, but yes, I'm not going to panic over it and it's ok to "slug around" if I want. After year 1 I decided I liked the mantra "It's your project, your rules". That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
Beautiful shot. Is it a selfie? I really like all those colors in the foreground. And congratulations on completing four years. That's quite an accomplishment.
