I went out for a brief photo ride today to collect contrast shots and ended up at my favorite old barn. I love the contrast of the vines against the cement on this old shed.
Thank you so much for your views, comments and favs! I was glad to see this on the PP as I think it's one of my favorites from the month.
@joansmor Oh no! I am not an early riser! This was taken late afternoon!
@shutterbug49 This building was part of a large dairy farm that was bought out by the state in the early 70's. There was a plan to dam up the Delaware River and create a recreational lake which would cover a huge area that was home to many farms like this. Families who had lived here for generations were basically forced out of their homes and had to sell them to the state for much less than what they were worth. It was a debacle. Environmental groups made such a protest and caused so many road blocks that the project was eventually abandoned. But the damage had already been done and most of the families were never able to move back. It is now part of the national park system.
@s4sayer This is the part that's in better shape. A little to the right you'd see something equal to what you described! And there's another building on the property that is seriously tilting. I'm wondering how long before it goes over.

Thank you Caroline! Poor Sleeping Beauty would be a bit chilly in this building with that drafty roof!
Thanks Kim!
Thank you Wendy and Kathy!
