Very creative photo. I'm not sure what the gadget is. It looks like a melon baller (although pretty shallow) on the left and the right side looks like a stethoscope. Is that to make sure the cantelope has no pulse before you cut and start making melon balls?

The contraption seems to offer many photo ops. We have had to cancel our planned field trip here because we are expected to reach 109 F on the planned day.

Thanks for all your views, comments and favs! For those who asked or wondered- the left side is a melon ball scoop; I'm not sure what the official name is, but I've always used it to dig out the seeds from squash or melons- it's like a scraper of sorts. It was a rather boring picture so I added that texture and then applied some color. I'm glad you liked it so much!
