A quick one today because I have to be on the road! And what do you know, my word is road!! Here's how it shows up in Milo's story:
"Tell me," Milo yawned, for he felt ready for a nap now himself, "does everyone here do nothing?"
"Everyone but the terrible watchdog," said two of them, shuddering in chorus. "He's always sniffing around to see that nobody wastes time. A most unpleasant character."
"The watchdog?" said Milo quizzically.
"THE WATCHDOG," shouted another, fainting from fright, for racing down the road barking furiously and kicking up a great cloud of dust was the very dog of whom they had been speaking.
Sorry for the rushed entry and unusually plain photo- but to quote another famous children's book: I'm late, I'm late for a very important date!!!
@geertje Thanks Geertje- I have gotten a lot of good shots by just plopping the camera down on the ground and pushing the shutter! @nicolecampbell Thanks Nicole- they're starting to come down now and we've had some wind too. @alia_801 Thanks Alia- looks like peak colors are hitting us this weekend. @cimes1 Thank you so much for the fav Carole! @steeler Thanks Howard! @sarasdadandmom Thanks Terry! @prttblues Thanks Bev!
okay, i can't go to bed unless i find out, but how did you do this? lying down on your stomach in the middle of the road? the wet road? because it's perfectly straight.
ooops, never mind, i just read your reply to geertje. but i would be so concerned a truck might pass by and there goes the camera! great shot, though, ann. i'm jealous!
@summerfield lol- you won't believe this but this is how I usually do shots from this pov. I walked out my front door, camera in hand. I looked up and down the street to make sure there were no cars coming. I don't worry about the neighbors seeing me anymore- they already know I'm a bit crazy with the camera. I walked out to the middle of the road, put the camera down on the yellow line, pushed the shutter, and that was it. Picked up the camera, walked back inside and uploaded the shot! (o: Sweet dreams!!
@summerfield Not to worry about vehicles Summerfield. We live in a mostly wooded section of our community. You can hear the vehicles coming- and see them too, although this shot doesn't really show you that. We are at the top of a hill here too- which also gives you a good line of sight. Not that I'd want someone to run over my camera, but it's a fairly inexpensive p&s, plus, they'd also be running over me, since I'm standing there pushing the shutter!
@mrssmith Thank you Carla- I still have to laugh over this one because all I did was walk out of the house and put the camera down on the road and push the shutter button. I really did not think about it at all!!
