The Butterfly Alphabet is a photographic work done by the Norwegian born photographer Kjell B. Sandved. Sandved came up with the idea while working at the National Museum of Natural History in Washington D. C. He found all the letters of the Latin (English) alphabet as was as the numbers 0 to 9 in the patterns on the wings of butterflies. This project led him to Brazil, Congo, Papua New Guinea and Philippines. He completed the alphabet in 1975.

Well, my O didn't come from a butterfly, but it's just as colorful!
Beautiful design and shot.

@dmariewms Thanks Marie. It is a close-up of one of our stained glass windows at church. If you'd like to see the whole section it's on Jan. 16 of 2011.

Thanks so much everyone. It's such a small detail on the window, but when it's the central part of the picture the sunlight makes it glow. So glad you all enjoyed it.
