I was trying out another online photo processing site today- befunky.com. It has some interesting "artsy" effects and frames. I sort of liked how this one turned out, but not enough to make it my fork shot. Somehow it no longer looks like a photograph to me, but I wouldn't mind seeing it hanging in an art gallery!
funky, indeed. i imagine people milling about this one at the gallery, "wow, that's a great abstract. look at the top, it's like a fork!" "i'll buy it."
@tanja_1211 Thanks Tanja- this site has some very nice applications in this respect. So glad you like it! @kimmistephens Thanks Kimmi! @karenann Thanks Karenann. It's something that I would not use if I wanted to retain the photographic integrity of a shot- but I do like it. There a quite of few them I will have to explore! @kerristephens Thanks Kerri. The computer decides the colors, but I like them too! @summerfield lol Vikki- that could absolutely happen! @eudora Thanks Diane. It doesn't look anything like a photograph anymore, but I do like it. @peterdegraaff Thanks Peter! Far out man! @nicolecampbell Thanks Nicole. Yes Picmonkey is a nice replacement for Picnik (started by a couple of folks from Picnik). There are a couple things in iPiccy I like too. All three of them are user friendly, so when Picnik disappears, I know I'll be floating back and forth between all of them. I'm hoping Picmonkey will eventually add in the mirror frame. @digitalrn Thanks Rick. That's interesting. I like thinking it could be assumed to be something else. @sangwann Thanks Dione! The composition is mine, the computer program put the colors in. I do like them and this effect. @httpgeffed Thanks Colleen. That's an interesting thought. I do like that having the picture processed this way, it could be interpreted as a couple different objects.
Pretty neat effects... Couldn't tell it was a fork right off!! Have you also looked into Lunapic, Pixlr and Picasa? I don't use them myself but I have toyed around a little bit to see what they're like. There is also Fotoflexer, but that is totally basic.
@prttblues Thanks Bev- I did check out Pixlr- but it seemed a little challenging for me! And I had looked at Picasa too, but theirs involved downloading and there's enough stuff in our computer already! Haven't heard of Lunapic, so I'll have to try that someday. If Fotoflexer is basic, then it sounds like it's the same as Picmonkey and Picnik, so I'm covered there. I'm enjoying befunky- it totally turns your photo into a piece of art. I will have to watch how often I use this because when you can process out all the imperfections, you get lazy as a photographer.
@woot Thanks Davide! If you ever feel like fooling around with a free processing program check out Befunky.com- that's where this came from. All you do is press the button and the computer does all the work!
