Like a flower found pressed in a book. Very evocative.

Nice processing, Ann. I have sown some petunias but they don't seem to want to germinate.

@salza @sarah19 @sangwann
Thank you Sally!
Thank you Sarah!
Thank you Dione!
I would have liked that center just a tad bit sharper, but sometimes my camera doesn't like to focus where I want it to. In this case, it wanted the mid-point of the bell. Oh well!

Oh, I don't know - it's got that collodion sort of look which is undeniably appealing. The vignetting is appropriate to that - how about a nice smudgy wet edge too, for that mid 19th century look?

@automaticslim lol Andy- is that a fancy way of saying it has "potential"? (o: Seriously, thank you. I hadn't thought of the vintage approach to this shot. Maybe I'll revisit on another uninspired day.

No, just my immediate impression. I'm a fan of that sort of look anyway ... have you seen Joni Sternbach's work? http://www.jonisternbach.com/index.html
Love the edges of her photographs, especially the "Abandoned" series.

@automaticslim I had not- but have now. I was particularly drawn to the "Promised Land" shots of old houses.

I actually think that this is amazingly inspiring/inspired. I don't know that I would ever have thought of sepia for petunias, but I really like this!

@lyno Thank you Lyn! Sometimes when I feeling uninspired I shoot a bunch of things in color, b/w and sepia. Somehow I'm always surprised by something when I view it large in the computer. I just wish the center of this one was more in focus. But something confused my camera and it just wouldn't focus there. It's pretty close, but not as crisp as I really wanted it. Such is the nature of a p & s.
