Walk with me quiet, walk with me slow
With watered down coffee and words of gold
I can feel the edges of these things
When I hear You speak to me, so walk with me
Walk with me empty, walk with me strong
The hush or our voices when the day seems so long,
It is like a balm, it is like a jewel
It unravels all I thought I knew
Will you lead me beside the still waters
Where the oil, it runs over, and my cup overflows
You restore my soul
Tell me the story, where old is made new
The promise of ages, and all things that are true
When the shadows fall and the wrecking ball
Swings and tears me through the heart
Will You lead me beside the still waters
Where the oil, it runs over and my cup overflows
You restore my soul
Words and music by Sandra McCracken
The leaves of Autumn were awash in gold as I wandered along the Bushkill today. The air held a hint of the cooler temperatures of Fall but some of the Summer's warmth still lingered. I had company in this place of quiet, a Great Blue Heron, who was not pleased with my presence. After I disturbed his fishing hole, not once but twice, he took off for parts unknown and left me with only a flash of blue on my view finder. So I turned my camera on a subject that was much more cooperative, the lovely Bushkill Creek. The waters sang to me, and reminded me of this song. The wounds of grief take a long time to heal.
this is a beautiful capture of a really beautiful and peaceful place. this reminds me of the calendars in the 60's, when each page opposite each month is printed with lovely scenic views. great shot, ann.
@maggiemae Thank you Maggie! Sometimes the pictures or the experience brings to mind a song that has been with me through a tough time. Those dotes connected with this shot.
@ruthmouch Thank you Ruth! @andiejaye Thank you so much Andiejaye. That is a very high compliment! @sangwann Thank you Dione! @geertje Thank you Geertje! So nice to see you here again!! You should be able to find it under Caedman's Call. The album is Back Home. I think you will like it- the whole album is quite good!
@nicolecampbell Thank you Nicole! @digitalrn Thank you Rick! It is a popular fishing spot with the fly fishermen too. @httpgeffed Thank you Colleen! @wenbow Thank you Wendy! @kerristephens Thank you Kerri! @salza Thank you Sally! It's been a rough patch of days missing loved ones. I needed to be out in the colors and sun. @filsie65 Thank you Phil! It is a pretty spot. I'd planned to go out on the trail again, but changed my mind due to the time. I'm glad I ended up here! @summerfield Thank you Vikki! Of the 150+ pictures I took yesterday (not all here) this was my favorite I think- just for the colors. Other than a few minor tweaks, this is sooc. It really was that brightly colored.
Ann this is very beautiful...I love walking next to a little pond or a small stream and the shrubs and trees in their golden glory make it although more enjoyable..your words go so well with this lovely picture. I'm glad I still stopped by tonight. I'm behind in my commenting and just a little while ago I finally got my getpushed picture uploaded..had to do a portrait of someone and someone in this case was me. tomorrow I've a test at the hospital and then on Friday I've to show up at 6.30 am for my procedure..I'm so glad it's finally that time..I waited long enough for it. so I might be out of commission Friday and Saturday..Sunday I hope to spend some time on here although they might suggest bed rest.
@bruni Thanks Bruni! I hope all goes well at the hospital and that you're up and running around soon! Don't worry about us while you're on the mend. We'll all be here when you're back on your feet again. @daisy Thank you Kathryn! @pjonas Thank you Patty! @eniaral Thank you Laraine! Well, we might be able to arrange that...
@cimes1 Thank you Carole- if I had the time and energy, I'd probably go back every day to see if I could find him again. But this area is so wooded and the creek goes on and on. We could be playing the "catch me if you can" game all day. Maybe someday, when I have a big girl camera (a real DSLR that I dream of owning), I would go and sit until he was comfortable with my presence. Then, with the right lens, I might be able to capture him. I did catch one shot of him in flight- but it's not worthy of posting- but a good memory for me.
@stephw Thank you Stephanie! I felt like I was walking through one of those paintings a couple of times!
