Snowfall at Night by olivetreeann

Snowfall at Night

Took a few quick snaps last night while our Nor'easter was in full swing. The bulk of the storm by-passed us (thankfully!) and we ended up with about 4 inches of snow to shovel off the driveway this morning. I liked the sense of black and white in this shot even though it's in color. The snow outlining the tree branches is very dramatic.

Perfect shot!

@amyamoeba Thanks Amy! I don't usually take shots with the flash, but I know it's great for picking out the snowflakes at night. The added bonus here was how it picked up the snow on the tree.

I agree, it's perfect! I've never had the opportunity to take a picture of snow falling, how lucky you are to capture this.

I don't have the opportunity either to shoot snow so like to imagine what it is like from pictures like this!

@granny7 Thank you Linda!
@maggiemae Thank you Maggie!
@vposey Thank you Vickie!
@salza Thank you Sally!
@claireuk Thank you Claire!

It really seems strange to me that you would not have the ability to shoot a picture with snow- but my understanding of the world has expanded since I started 365, so I know there are places without it! Yes, it looks magical in this shot, but take my word for it, when you have to shovel it after it stops, it looses all its magic!

@nicolecampbell Thanks Nicole- we were prepared either way. Most of the time the media folks over predict. So we just play it smart.

Nice job capturing it, and I am so glad it missed us too, but wow, for those who were hit. Some of the photos were amazing.

@digitalrn Thanks Rick- I know- I have to check in with my sister in Vt. and see how they fared. It's pretty amazing to see snow that high- it's been quite a few years!

This is beautiful Ann. How I wish for a few days of Wintry weather like that to take some gorgeous photos. So dramatic.

Magnificent in B&W, Ann. The snow is so clear to see and the lighting on the tree is super.
