A "nine days' wonder" is a thing or event that creates a brief sensation. I thought it was a great phrase when I picked it out, but I've had such a busy week, I didn't have time to create one of my own. So today I began to think of things I have around the house that would apply to this definition. I guess I'm not really one to go in for fads because I couldn't really think of anything that I owned which was popular for a short period of time and then faded into the sunset! Then I remembered these little doodads- all collected at Tupperware parties. They always seem like such "handy gadgets" when you win them in a game. But in the end, they always turn out to be space grabbers in your kitchen drawer!
Thank you Dawn, Dione, Sally, Nicole, Claire, Rick and Kerri!
@sangwann It's a Tupperware lid. @salza I hadn't realized that- wow! @nicolecampbell A jar opener is useful though! @digitalrn lol maybe- but I'm pretty sure this collection would not be missed. It's been over 20 years since I went to a Tupperware party and I don't think I've touched them since they were put in the drawer!
@prttblues Thanks Bev! Don't feel deprived- you haven't missed much other than a bunch of doo-dads you'd stick in your drawer and then wish they didn't take up so much space. hehe
