First shot is just about midnight last night. The snow had landed on the railing over the lights and created such a pretty effect I had to grab a shot before I turned in. This morning we saw exactly how much fell by the mound on top of our "wishing well" in the front yard.
Thank you everyone! Let's see if I can answer those questions:
I was only up until 1 minute past midnight to take this photo- eyes half open, I just hope it was in focus!
Yes, our "little" snow was more like 9" of snow. I think weathermen/women have a great job. You can be wrong so often and still keep your job. But I just laugh- who really thinks they can predict the weather?
The object in the evening photo is an old milk can with that 9" of snow on top. Coating that is a lovely layer of ice.
I worked for Judy today and then came home to lug wood into a cold house. So I'm pretty achy and sore right now- arthritis rearing its ugly head in all my joints- so I'm off to bed and I'll catch up with you all tomorrow.
Both great shots, Ann. Excellent diptych. I like the way the lights look in the night shot. Glad you caught that. And your wishing well with the flamingo is cute! Well done.
@prttblues Thank you Bev! Yes, the lights at night have been quite pretty' with or without snow! The flamingoes are a joke. We have two plaster statues (a deer and a raccoon) that were in the gardens when we bought the place. Jeff can't stand them but I won't let him get rid of them. " We can't get rid of them!" I say, "The critters came with the house!" One time he replied, "The next thing you know we'll have some of those stupid pink flamingoes in the yard!" Well, you can see what happened after that comment!
