Wonderful street scene. And it's only a practice shot? That's a good idea re a lesson on your camera. I know that I'm not using all the functions on mine and need someone to actually show me.
the light is just amazing, so many wonderful points I could comment on. the man leaning on the building keeps pulling my eye. great back light on his hair.
@kerristephens Thank you Kerri! @taffy Thanks Taffy! Yes, just a practice shot- left pretty much sooc. There are definitely things I would "fix" on it (mostly the composition/crop) if I was really paying attention to it but overall, I still like it enough to post it! @aikimomm Thanks Phoebe! Maybe quick on taking the shot- but now I'm wishing I took better notes that day! @gratefulness Thanks Sandi! Yes, I actually took a one-on-one class, so I had plenty of practice. I will probably take another in a month or two. Right now I am trying to remember what I learned and put it into practice around the house. I wish I'd taken better notes, but I'm finding that what I do remember coupled with some photography books that I have are helping to get in stuck in my brain. @dibzgreasley Thanks Debs! This day was relatively warm (hovering around 40F) but it's not Spring yet! @nicolecampbell Thanks Nicole! Actually this was a "warmER" day compared to the temps we've had recently- but still chilly as far as temps go.
@joansmor LOL Joan- it felt so warm after the frigid days previous I wore a jacket and not my winter coat! But it really wasn't that warm. @fullcircle Thanks Cindy! After the Flash of Red February week where we concentrated on lighting and I had nothing special at all that week, I was thrilled to catch this! @nicoleterheide Thanks Nicole! The teacher had actually told me to shoot the other way (which I did) but I'm always looking everywhere and when I turned around and saw this Gibson's book came right to mind. Back-lighting!!
