Jeff's Uncle Charles is the family historian. He has collected many of the family photos and put them together in an album with articles and memorabilia from the family business which was run by Jeff's grandfather.
@thresheg@edie Thank you Graham and Edie! And thank you so much for your favs!!
@edie Thanks Edie- Uncle Charles and Jeff have always hit it off- both are very creative and love folk music.
@kerristephens Thank you Kerri! @tabarlett Thanks Tammy- definitely wanted to give it a nostalgic feel. @aikimomm Thank you Phoebe! This is my husband's side of the family (his mother's side), so my shots are really about our little branch. However, the most recent batch we took of cousins, siblings and aunts and uncles would fit nicely in a general family album for sure. This album is specifically about Jeff's grandfather (Charles' father). @maggiemae Thanks Maggie! Yes, Uncle Charles was the youngest son- Jeff's mother was the second youngest and only daughter, then Uncle Don (who passed away in 2013 from brain cancer), and the oldest was Uncle Bob. Charles, Don and Bob are all artistic in one way or another. Charles- both musical and creative designed toys for a living until he retired. Don played banjo and loved the outdoors. And Bob is a master watercolorist and artist. So it's not surprising that Jeff is as talented as he is! So, what kind of business did their Dad own? Scrap yard (where you dump old cars) and repair shop! But he was an avid photographer- so that's where the artistry comes in.
@dibzgreasley Thanks Debs! This is Jeff's family but Uncle Charles has given us copies of the pictures that are pertinent to Jeff. Maybe four or five generations from now my shots will be just as valuable! Although it's more about Jeff than me- hehe
@thresheg Thank you Graham- the picture just felt like it needed some hint of nostalgia.
@joansmor Thanks Joan. Uncle Charles and his wife Pat have always been one of the blessings for me in this family. There have been times when his folks' mental health issues made things kind of crazy- but they always stepped in to reassure me it would all work out.
@digitalrn Thanks Rick! It does take time. I had wanted to do something similar for my sisters last Christmas but in the end I just gave them money and CDs with the pictures on them!
So important that someone does this in the family. I do as much as I can, to keep those stories and histories alive.
