Morandi My Way by olivetreeann

Morandi My Way

I've really enjoyed putting a Morandi twist on my photos this week. It wasn't really hard to do as I tend to like emphasizing shape with positive-negative space and taking a minimalistic approach to many of pictures. But while Morandi has a definitive brush style along the lines of Cezanne, I like a crisper sharp-edged image with high contrast. So this is what happens when you blend my photo bent with a touch of Morandi.

I'm tagging this shot for the challenge, but I believe it's being posted after the cut-off date (and that's ok!).
Really well composed and I love the elegant processing. I love that glass on the front, love those soft edges

@susale Thank you Suse- it's a sweet little votive candle I've had for ages! A gift from my mom when in high school.
@thresheg Thank you Graham and thank you so much for the fav!
@salza Thank you Sally! Thankfully I live in a small house or I'd have A LOT more as I love glass bottles- particularly blue ones.

I just want to say that I think each one of your photos in the style of Morandi left no doubt as to whom you were trying to emulate. Even though you put your own twist on each one of them they still had enough of his style in them to make them recognizable as Inspired by him. This is another one nicely done.

Great composition. I loved this artist's work, but I didn't have any old vases or bottles to use.

@skstein Thank you Sandy and thank you for the fav too!
@homeschoolmom Thanks Lisa! The only one in this bunch that actually is really old is the round one. The tall triangular one is not old at all and the two votives are old because they've been with me since high-school. But I'm just NOT that old! LOL
