A Little Yellow Goldfish Swimming in a Sea of Bricks
We walked around Antietam, taking in the lay of the land and trying to imagine all that happened there. Although the sun was shining there was a somber sense of sadness in remembering all the lives that were affected because of that battle. We had come to one memorial where there were benches to sit down and reflect so I had done that. When I looked down this little fellow was just to my right. And there was a moment of happiness when I saw him! Some child had lost him from a handful of treats and here he was just swimming along on the bricks. Children and hope are always the strongest answer to sorrow and sadness.
Fun photo and wonderful commentary to go with it. I can definitely see how the little fish and the thought of a little child enjoying the snack lightened up the mood.
