I'm not quite sure what they call these structures scattered about the playground. Perhaps they are a modern take on what was called a "jungle gym" in my day, although this one is only for climbing. Whatever it may be classified as, I thought it was a great photo subject and originally thought I'd use it for the 52 Week Challenge- Tell a story with shape week. But the Millstone pathway ended up taking that spot and the shot became something to have some processing fun with yesterday. Since the word "playground" was in the title I thought most of you would guess accordingly. Apparently I really stumped you! Well, now you know what it is- even if we don't know what it's called!
There were several others like it- all spread out so the children could run and climb through them. They were being used and I was lucky to catch a shot without someone climbing through the hole.
if i don't know it, i just call it thingamajiggs! someone will surely come along and know the name. nice processing.
i have no recollection of seeing your email that you weren't able to come to niagara for the meet up. i had a really bad case of sudden vertigo on friday afternoon. i just turned my head and everything around me went swirling. i was in bed all through monday morning. when i came to monday morning, i was really resenting my body for that vertigo bout. turned out i had a really bad inner ear infection. i was wondering days before why my jaw felt sore and i had so many limp nodes, but i didn't suspect anything because i didn't feel unwell at all. well, we gotta do it at the next opportunity.
Thank you Lynn, Katy, Kathy, Debs, Racheal, Ferry, Helen and Wendy!
Thanks for all the views, comments and favs which landed this on the PP- wow that was a surprise!
@dibzgreasley@helenhall I suppose it's really meant to be climber through more than climbed on, but it's made of plastic so not sharp at all. The processing is a little deceiving there.
@summerfield Thanks Vikki! When I read your email I just attributed the mix-up to your condition and the thought that maybe you didn't read your emails because of it. At any rate, Maggie knew I wasn't coming so that was ok. The car has been in the shop now since Wednesday and it turns out the brake line was definitely rusty, not leaking, but still not safe for long distance driving. Even local was iffy so everything is being replaced. We can definitely plan for something in the future. I'll keep setting aside my cleaning money and ban myself from any further photography purchases! Long story but things are a little weird with the daughter-in-law and her mother right now, but the other in-laws (Christopher's) are also in Batavia and their door is wide open at any time. So we'll get those sunrise photos of the Falls yet.
Thank you Lou Ann!
Thank you Henri!
Thanks Connie!
