This is something we don't see too often. Due to our recent lengthy deep freeze, the Delaware River has frozen over and large chunks of ice have piled up within its banks. This shot was taken from the center point of the Delaware Water Gap- an elbow like bend in the Delaware River that zig-zags its way between New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
Wow--we used to go see the Delaware Water Gap when I was a kid, but I never saw it frozen (probably my parents stayed home when it was that cold, maybe thawing pipes?) Neat photo!
The truck in the background gives your photo a real sense of scale. That is a lot of water that has frozen up. Hope you're managing to stay nice a warm.
Thank you everyone! We have had a string of warmer days- in the 40's and 50's which has made it much more comfortable to get out and photograph things. Thanks for noticing the truck- I did add that for scale, not only of the river, but also the Gap itself. It's quite a deep gorge. Thanks for all the views and comments- much appreciated!
