The Parthenon by olivetreeann

The Parthenon

I was looking around for something to post in album number 2 today and stumbled upon this picture of the Parthenon that I took back in 2005 when I traveled to Greece on a study tour. It was under repair back then so the inside was full of scaffolding. Hopefully the black and white treatment reduced it a bit and you don't see it as much as in the color version. What a great trip that was!
Wow! I probably wouldn't even have noticed if you hadn't said anything! Well done Ann

Hardly notice it. It looks like a nice pencil sketch.

Greece is one my favorite places in the world (there are quite a few!) and the Acropolis makes you feel the owner of history . This Parthenon is kind falling apart, one of the sad parts of Greek History. But now is splendid again, no more ruins, no more scaffolds. Fav

I was there almost the same time and took lots of shot but your work made it special! I would buy it in Athen as a picture postcard.

Thank you Katy, Kathy, Caterina, Maggie, Milanie, Marnie, Babs, Fjanos, Lynda, Claude, Rob, Ferry and Wendy!

Thanks for all the views, comments and favs. I'm glad it brought back some good memories for a few of you! It is definitely a special place and you do have this awesome sense of history when you're there. I think if I could return I'd probably take even better pictures now, but I'm glad for the ones I do have as they're quite adequate! Thanks for sending this one to the PP!

@olivetreeann I listened to a very interesting podcast a few days ago which was about the way 'ancient civilisations' are perceived by we modern day folks. If I can find it again, I'll send you the link.
