Roses are Red
Violets are Blue
Sugar is Sweet
And so are you!
Aww- Theo gave Kay a rose for Valentines Day. Did you know that sending and receiving Valentines Day cards was not really in practice until the 14th c.? It became popular after the poet Chaucer wrote about it in one of his poems.
interesting Valentine's card - you've just sent me off reading up about Valentine's Day history, which was fascinating. The first recorded Valentine's reference other than Chaucer talking about mating birds in possibly May (several different St Valentines on different dates), the Duc d'Anjou wrote to his wife from the Tower of London following the Battle of Agincourt in 1415.
@pandorasecho Thank you Dixie! @onewing Thank you Babs! @gilbertwood Thank you Denise! @shannejw Thanks Shanne! I had done the same thing as a friend of ours was saying how there were several St. Valentines and one had been martyred which made me wonder how in the world we ended up sending one another love poems over that! It really does have an interesting if somewhat murky history doesn't it? @louannwarren Thank you Lou Ann! @daisymiller Thank you Daisy! @henrir Thank you Henri!
