We don't have a Thai restaurant anywhere nearby. When we lived closer to Cape Town (around 20 odd years ago) we used to go to a Thai restaurant there but I don't recall seeing Thai tea on the menu.
Thanks to one and all! This restaurant is fairly new. They had just opened when our governor shut everything down and then would not allow restaurants to open- even for take out. But somehow they managed to survive.
@salza That's what we call it- I think it is something like a Red Bush tea with lots of cream in it and cold. It's caffinated though so it'll keep you up at night if you drink it too late in the day- at least it does that to me!
This is not boba or bubble tea is it? It looks tasty. I researched a little more and apparently there's another sort of tea often consumed in Thailand. I know my sister-in-law used to drink iced coffee and the other tea is fixed like that.
@randystreat Yes, it's fixed like iced coffee- a large glass of tea (my guess is it's black tea of some sort) and then cream is added. It comes looking like a two-toned beverage but you then stir the cream and tea together. Thanks Kathy!
