Broken and Weathered

I'm finally getting around to processing more pictures from the beginning of the month- just after I came home from the hospital and Jeff took me out for a drive. What a beautiful day that was!

Thanks to one and all for the views, comments and favs! Yes, this one has seen better days. It now sits in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area so it will never be restored unfortunately. But in its day I'm sure it was quite productive. This one and the white one that I often photograph were owned by families that had been in the area for generations. Plans were made to dam up the Delaware River for recreation purposes and the families were forced to sell well below the value of their property but the project was so controversial that environmental groups eventually won out and it never came to be. Sadly by the time all that happened these families could not get their land back and now time and tide are slowly wreaking havoc on the structures. The only positive of al this is that since the land is protected no building along the river will take place and the wildlife and land will be allowed to prosper as it is.
