Wing Surfing

As we got back to our cars after being out with the walking group yesterday I spotted this chap wing surfing.

I have seen wind surfing and kite surfing here regularly but have never seen wing surfing before. He was fascinating to watch. With the foil attached to his board he could raise quite a way out of the water.

I saw these here for the first time two years ago when Katja was taking surfing lessons. There were some amazing performers on the water and fascinating to watch. There are extremely high winds in Blouberg where they all gather.

It was very windy and the usually calm sea here in the bay was very choppy. He even managed to turn round a few times so I got a few shots each time he sailed past.

@nigelrogers He did indeed have an aerofoil attached to the bottom of the board and it was fascinating watching him as he rose out of the water.
