This sculpture called Evolution 1 is at the western end of Hunter Street Mall in Newcastle and depicts four figures facing North, South, East and West to symbolise the migration of people from the four corners of the earth.

I like the symbolism of the sculpture. I hope they used their compass and got the directions correct. I'm hopeless at finding North.

@angelat Thanks Angela. There is also a single figure standing alone a bit further away from these 4 figures and that figure represents the indigenous people that were here prior to the arrival of the others. I couldn't get all of it in this shot though.

There is another part to this sculpture and that is of a single figure standing away from these figures which represents the indigenous people that were here prior to the arrival of the others, but I couldn't get that in this shot.
