This bear popped out of the woods this morning at the edge of my garden. I got a quick shot. I didn’t stick around for the perfect shot. I didn’t trust him to play nice.
@janturnbull No gun, I just get back in the house. My husband has a sling shot to drive them away. I take down my feeders at night, but the bears are getting ready for winter so they are out in the day! I'm going to have to take feeders down during the day now until winter.
Eek Junan - please take these from inside the house next time. I may come fromm a country where bears are long extinct but 3 months in US in a motorhome in National Parks taught my family a lot about bears. Like you say - they only look cute. (It is a fantastic shot though.)

We do not encourage the bears or any wildlife to the yard except birds. But bears are a seasonal sighting of spring and autumn living in the forest. I’ve been here 14 years and I am very careful and watchful for wildlife. As soon as I hear or see anything I head for the house. Thank you all so much for the concern, I always think safety first.
I can't believe you didn't run. That is one dedicated photographer.
