Finlay has been naughty today and kept attacking George for no reason. I was angry when he hurt George and sent him out into the garden. He rushed round to our decking and watched George in the lounge. Finlay seems a bit fed up with George today. Mind you George is giving as good as he gets and keeps hanging on Finlays whiskers!
Many thanks for visiting my project which is full of Westie photos at the moment! I appreciate all your comments!
Sound just like a couple of siblings.. the little one doing the needling and the bigger one getting in trouble.. hope they sort their differences out soon.
They are both so cute. Finlay is probably just fed up with George grabbing him and wanting to play - which is natural. I agree with @salza they do learn their boundaries this way. When Finlay retaliates there will probably noise but usually there is little aggression in older dogs. Eric is a great one teaching Trevor at the moment. In our experience keeping them together and watching them is better than separating them which can often lengthen the problem. Hubby's e.g. is like 2 boys fighting in the playground, separating doesn't always work but bringing together and talking to them ( or watching and working with both dogs in the doggy world) is often the better way. They will soon sort it out and form a close bond to give you years of pleasure..
Love your Westie photos!!! We have two Mini poodle miixes, and Bradley is definitely the alpha dog. At times Bailey looks at him to see if what he wants to do is OK!!
I'll be interested in following how you handle the next spat, given the range of advice here. Finlay certainly doens't want to miss out on anything, does he?
