Thank goodness only one more for both George and Finlay. The pills are enormous and trying to disguise them in cheese. ham and chicken is no joke when they spit the pill out when you think they have swallowed it!!
Another shot of Finlay taken in the summer as he is hiding when he sees me coming today - I did mention the word bath so maybe that's why!! LOL!!
Lots of family issues going on at the moment so getting further behind in uploading and also in commenting. I will try to catch up over the weekend.
@maggiemae the vet said there seems to be something about at the moment which is making a lot of dogs ill. Both of mine have been really poorly but thankfully seem to be on the mend. I crushed the pills up tonight and put it into the chicken . George cleared his plate - quickly as usual. Finlay ate all round the edges of the bowl and left the bits of chicken with the crushed pills. Too fussy! Lol!
He is looking perkier. It is a devil of a job getting pills into them isn't it. I found the best way was to pop the pill at the back of their throat and then hold their mouth shut until they have swallowed a few times and hopefully the pill goes down.
Our much beloved late Sheba was a devil with pills, the only dog I've ever had who could park a pill in her mouth some place and spit it out when you'd gone away confident that she'd swallowed it. Maggie's so easy, I buy a pack of the cheapest supermarket sausages, cut them into 1-2" bits and freeze them. Thaw when needed and shove a pill down into the piece, bingo, down the hatch! My daughter put me on to this lurk.
What a relief that he's on the mend! We used to use peanut butter to get Nutmeg to eat her pills. She'd so almost anything for peanut butter and for cheese.
