Goldfinch by peadar

Goldfinch

This little Goldfinch (an unusual visitor to our garden) sat and posed for around 5 minutes - at one stage I thought he might be wounded as he wasn't moving very much (possibly a bit cold for him?). Then I became slightly impatient, as he wasn't doing anything of any interest at all, save for an occasional scratch under his wing. Then he flew off.

There, my own version of Waiting for Godot. Waiting for Goldfinch, perhaps?
Nice capture such a colourful little bird, as we feed them and found they like sunflower hearts more than niger seed we have a small flock on and off during the day.

How can you possibly get impatient at this little sweetie, I'm going to fav him, just to annoy you :))

I agree with Suzanne!

Interesting bird; looks nothing like the American goldfinch. I’m usually happy if a bird holds still for a photo if it is a bird I don’t see often. Otherwise, yes, I like them to do something entertaining. :)

Love your story - and he is cute. Actually - I think we saw one of these in Swansea Tasmania a week ago. They must have come out with early guys. I think this one looks sort of tired?
