I was not too sure about whether to post this picture as I did not know if there is a centre of focus for the shot or if the shot is too busy or if the yellow poles get in the way.
Anyway, I decided to go for it.
I've got a long lead in line with the floor and body of the tram. It was even longer before i cropped it.
To take the shot I just lowered my camera and clicked. I could not see what I was taking and took 3 quick shots. The original shot was not horizontal, so I had to straighten it in photoshop elements.
We don't travel on the tram very often because bus routes serve our suburb better, but as we had an 'all day bus and tram ticket', I hopped onto the tram for a few candid shots !
I like the lines of the yellow poles and hand guards. This is a great knee high shot. I think you captured a street photo quite well. Totally worth the tram ride!
@sueb Thank you Sue, interesting that both the young man and lady in the image are both 'heads down' looking at mobile phones. It seems everyone is more interested in the electronic world than the real world these days. Perhaps we are in the same situation too, by posting on here !!
@patsyjphillips Patsy, thank you for your comment. You are right about the depth of field. It was a point and shoot image, so the camera has done a good job with the depth of field. It is quite bright on the tram though as they have large windows and flourescent lighting too, so the camera must have chosen a small aperture
@seattle Constance, thanks for your comment and I am pleased you approved. I tried a similar shot on the bus too, but that did not turn out quite as well, perhaps because the bus does not have quite as much space inside it as a tram. I'll try to get a 'bus' shot later in my 365 :)
No, no love the yellow horizontal lines in relation to the overhead lights. Really like the way you can look all the way down the car and each traveler is totally isolated in his own little world.
@allie912 Allison, thank you for the comments. I did not like my 'tram image' at first, but it has grown on me since I took it. I do find myself moving in and out of the poles moving down the tram :). Thanks again
@gill Thank you, the tram is quite a new innovation to Nottingham and there is quite a bit of civic pride about it to the people of the city and surrounding districts. I think 'head down' looking at phones is probably one of the most common poses among people these days !
