Pond Grasses by phil_howcroft

Pond Grasses

This is a shot of some grasses that are growing in our garden pond. Marginal pond plants is the term they use in the pond books to describe them !!

I don't know what they are officially called, but they looked really nice last night as the low evening sun illuminated them with a golden green colour

SOOC but cropped so that the diagonal fills the frame

Hope the image has enough interest in it to be worthy of posting on here.
Interesting - and the diagonal works great here. Never saw those before, but I can imagine how beautiful they must look in the evening sun. :-)

@shadowdancer

shadow, the image has a very much 'shadow feel' to it as you do really good flower / plant / macro work with great DOF ...I think I have copied your style here !

Carex pendula........:-) I posted a photo of these just a few days ago with morning light. I think it was the one you gave me some advice on. I love these too and I like this simple but detailed shot. Trouble is they do tend to seed everywhere!!

I love these grasses & I think as a plant they are very underrated ! The different seed heads on the various types of grasses are all interesting. I think you have captured the simplicity of these seeds beautifully & the evening light just picks out the colour.

Phil, I love the shot. I often take these kinds of shots in part to develop my skill but also because I love the color and textures. It's lovely.
