Whippets are renowned for being bendy and stretchy and rather athletic.
Ruby has a certain style when eating her 'post tea' doggie treat / teeth cleaning dental stick !!
Depending on her mood she either eats it on the lawn (or what passes for a lawn after whippet run arounds), patio (seen here), bed or rug in the lounge.
She eats it holding the stick between her front paws while arching her back up in the air. Not very lady like pose from behind, but very graceful and elegant when viewed from the front and 'eye to eye' with the camera !!
Anyway, I don't doubt , we all wish we could bend and be as flexible as this !!!
BTW the tub of green in the right hand corner is a little herb garden ...parsley, chives, garlic chives, mint and sage. The garden also has several rosemary plants and a massive fennel bush !!!
Pictured last week, but only just got round to posting !!
She's doing a bow (according to doggy training classes). That's amazing - Monty will do that as a stretch or for a treat (if I say 'bow') but he won't sit like that to eat. Ruby's looking in really great nick Phil.
Ruby is so beautiful! And I don't doubt you one bit about the "not very lady like" from behind comment. Shadow loves the on-the-back-legs-wide-open pose. LOL.
Oh how lovely I thought I had missed this shot - me miss a whippet :-0 I always find it amusing that they use their paws to help eat stuff but it is obvious really, mine tend to put their bums down and get stuck in. But sometimes they save the treat and only eat them when we get back :-) Ruby is gorgeous - I want to steal her!
nice one.. i think that's what they call dog pose in yoga.
My dog sometimes eats/chews sticks like that, its cool.
They can be quite dainty eating the chewstix.
I know Ive said it before but Ruby has the cutest ears! Love this picture of her, and love your little herb garden too. How do you stop Ruby from pulling up all your plants?
@whippeteer thanks FRances, we think she is gorgeous too, she is ultra friendly too, the gas man who came to fix a fault today was welcomed like he was her bessie mate....not that he was a doggie person..had to put her in the kitchen for 30 mins because she was eager to help him mend the valve on the radiator !!!
@tashy Tashy, glad you like those soft fluffy ears :)....how do we stop her eating plants...well it is difficult...a firm NO usually suffices....however I think she thinks her name is "RUBY NO" rather than "RUBY"
