This is the River Trent at Newark on Trent, Notts, shot from the bridge over the Trent
Behind me is a castle but this was all in the shade so was not very good for a picture. You therefore have the wharf on the left hand side and a restaurant boat on the right hand side - the wharf is all converted housing now.
If you view large you can see a scrap yard on the bend of the river. From 1990 to 1996 I used to work in an office block (well 3 floors counts as a block in the UK) that overlooked the scrap yard and the river...oh and the train line too....many a reflective minute at work was spent looking at the river, the yard, the railway ...oh and the sugar beet factory too) !!!
The wharf is also home to a Waitrose supermarket...top end of the market when it comes to supermarkets...but it does have some top quality food goodies not available elsewhere :)
Saturday was a beautiful crisp and sunny winters day...as you can see form this image
Ooh nice reflections and the restaurant boat looks fun - you're not really selling your old office view to me though Phil - though on a sunny day like this I bet even the beet factory looks nice!
A lovely picture, especially with the magnifier. You could see the hills all wrapped in clouds. If I had a river to gaze at when I was supposed to be working, I doubt i would get anything done.
Love these reflections. I think it's easy to miss other people on 365 as there must be thousands who come and go, and unless they appear on the popular pages, which I do look at occasionally, then they can be just invisible.
@busylady thanks Judith, I only made the Pop Pages on a few occassions, I never really visited the PP's that often....searching on Tags sometimes returns excellent images
