It's been an emotional week to be a Bolton Wanderers supporter.
Last Saturday our 23 year old midfielder, Fabrice Muamba, collapsed on the pitch during our FA Cup match at Spurs
He was in effect dead as his heart didn't beat for 78 minutes
He is now showing signs of recovery and today it was our chance as supporters to show our support for him at the home match against local rivals Blackburn Rovers
Fabrice is a well respected footballer and today the Wanderers issued us all with cards and we held them aloft to make a mosaic during two minutes of applause to support his recovery
This image shows some of the fans holding their cards aloft, led by a 6 foot 6 inches lion named Lofty !!!
@allie912 thank you allison, it is an incredible story. Last Saturday we were all upset, it continued all through Sunday, but on Monday the news started to get a bit better.
I wondered if you had been at that match when I saw this on TV last night. Must have been a really moving match & to see all those tributes too !! So glad he is doing well & slowly recovering although will he ever play football again I wonder !!! Good job he is a clever lad & will have his accountancy degree to fall back on !!his
@marlboromaam Maggie thanks for your kind words of support..it was very moving at the football (soccer) on Saturday...I don't know if my image is that good, but it was hard to get a decent shot of the tribute with all the cards held aloft in my area of the stadium
@sleepdozer57 cheers Peter, it's been an emotional season to be a Wanderer ...Speedo dying, Fabrice having his cardiac arrests, 2 players breaking legs pre season, Stu Holden's nightmare injuries ....the list goes on
@judithg Judith good spot, re the applause and holding the cards !!! Only one stand created the mosaic so the rest of the stadium applauded and we all sang his name !
