I went to watch my team Bolton Wanderers today in the English Premier League. Another awful game, we managed a 1-1 draw against Swansea City. I say managed, we should have been beaten, we were a pure excuse for a football team today. Relegation is looming, we don't deserve to stay up.
Anyway, we saw the unusual sight of a lady linesman at the Reebok today. Actually, we should not call them linesman, they are officially assistant referees, but 'old school' footie fans still call them linesman, in fact everyone still calls them linesman / lino's !!!
Miss S Massey ran her line well, she had a good game. I look forward to seeing her being promoted to a full referee in the years to come.
@steveh Steve, Jussi has been flattering to deceive for a couple of seasons now !! Our best keeper was sold to Wigan, although Bogdan has had some decent games and it is 'his time' to step up now
Wasn't she the controversial young lady that got Richard Keys and Andy Grey into such hot water...and proved that she has better eyesight than either of them? She looks well concentrated. Great capture.
I remember this femail lines woman when she first came into the limelight &she made some good decisions in that match . Just scraped a draw & it doesn't matter if you felt you didn't deserve its the result & points that count.
I'm in the same boat as you Phil, just can't see how we're going to stay up if the players can't be bothered! I was actually quite impressed by Miss Massey, got every decision correct unlike Mr Dowd!
At least if the inevitable does happen then you'll have a few local East Midlands matches next season!
@rf20 we are down Rich, I'm in Birmingham on Tuesday and normally I'd go to Villa Park...but everything is so tense at the moment and it's just not an enjoyable experience watching us play.....it hurt on Saturday to see the shambolic performance we put up.
@phil_howcroft I can't make it tomorrow night or against Sunderland but I'm doing Stoke on the last. I hope we're still in it by then but then it's the hope that kills you in the end! It'll be much clearer this time tomorrow, definitely Coyles biggest match to date.
@rf20 now it's monday i'm tempted to go to villa, but last time i went to villa park for a night match i was stuck in a car park until gone 11 pm...not fun ...why doesn't coyle play sordell and why oh why did he play Davies on Saturday
I'm impressed that you know the personal information of the game officials. I hope your team can work its way out of the doldrums. Sometimes they have to clean house to get a better result.
