Power line poles have names too - They are not just numbers !

Power line poles have names too you know, they are not just numbers

'Keepers Cottage Bestwood' is this poles name !

Spotted while on a 'long walk with Ruby'

Converted to monochrome to add a bit of texture and tone.
Will have to start looking! There is something a bit sinister about Pole 15A (like The Prisoner,TV in the 70s!) so it's good that it's also got a name!

Fascinating capture! That's a pretty cool thing to do - name power line polls. I think they just give them numbers here in the states.

@marlboromaam thanks MAggie, I don't know if all poles are named , but this one is in a remote location so maybe that's why it had a name !

I've looked at ours and none have names, some don't even have a plaque, just a crude number carved into the wood!!

@tishpics patricia , you sureyour pole is not a telephone BT pole, this was an electricity pole, a wooden one in the countryside supplying electricity to a rural location

Actually you are right!! Although they did have Danger of Death on them too, a little man falling backwards with a bolt of lightening in his chest! LOL! We do have a power line in our hedge and I will have a look tomorrow to see if it has a name! You have started quite a chat with this!

A few years back I did a series of alley pictures for 365 which included a telephone pole with all its numbers. Our tags are made of metal and each number stands for something, like location. This is so interesting to see how things are done in other parts of the world.
