Smoking chef

A chef, spotted at the back of his restaurant in Nottingham having a ciggie / fab break.

I don't know why so many people in the catering / hospitality industry seem to smoke.

I suppose it's OK if you are ordering "smoked salmon" !

You do often see this common sight of chefs etc smoking outside but after watching Masterchef etc I am not in the least surprised,..a very stressful place to work!!! Good spotting Phil!! I expect he thought you were Health & Safety!!

My daughter and son-in-law are both chefs and neither smokes. I guess they are the exception that tests the rule! Love the columns in your capture. They really frame the portrait beautifully.

It's OK as long as they wash their hands after. Here on the ship we have to use hand gel before every meal and on entering the ship.I guess they don't want anyone getting ill.

You're right - they are always fagging outside Jamie's - I wonder if it's an excuse for extra breaks - I hate the thought of them stinking all over my food!

great shot - it's a funny thing isn't it? My cousin is a chef and has just given up smoking but found it difficult as all the other kitchen staff smoked!
