South Sherwood Street by phil_howcroft

South Sherwood Street

This is South Sherwood Street in Nottingham city centre.

Claire treated Jane to a Mothers Day meal (and me too) at Le Bistro Pierre in Nottingham.

Jane and Claire did some retail therapy before the meal and I had a little wander around the city and took some street shots.

I like the minimalistic nature of the shot as a young lady waits outside the Nottingham Corner house cinema / restaurant / entertainment complex.

In photography an image can work well if it has a triangle connecting the subjects / objects your are shooting. The triangle here is the lady the street sign and the canopy.

Oh and the shadow helps add a bit of interest too

Auto levels / straightening and a crop in GIMP.

Cool shot

this is great Phil ...very modern ... the yellow flash of the bag complements the green ball so well looks like you planned it all

@sparkle thanks juliette, i was tempted to do this in monochrome , but the subtle colours of the wall seem to work :)

definitely - the pop of green and yellow give it depth

Love the muted tones, Phil but I am especially intrigued by the ball hanging down. It reminds me of Damocles's sword, waiting to fall on her head when she gets within striking distance!
