Ribes Sanguineum by phil_howcroft

Ribes Sanguineum

...or flowering redcurrants.

We have a few bushes in our garden.

Shot with my nifty fifty, perhaps not the best lens to showcase this pretty flower / bush, but it did a decent job.

The narrow DOF with the 50mm has put the right hand flower out of focus, but I don't think that matters with the composition.

I planted some poppy seeds in my garden today. You may remember my ladybird poppies from the summer. I saved some poppy head seeds in an airtight jar. To sow the seeds you just sprinkle them in the soil in a tiny trough dug with your finger. I was reading the instructions on my mobile phone. How geeky is that?

I'll update you on the progress of the said poppy seeds and hopefully photograph them in summer :)
