This is a shot from yesterday when I had a pre meal stroll around the Nottingham's Lace Market.
The Lace Market is a historic quarter-mile square area of Nottingham. It was the centre of the world's lace industry during the British Empire and is now a protected heritage area (words courtesy of Wikipedia).
Actually I'm surprised I've never really featured much of the Lace Market before in my 365. I think I need to do another photoshoot here as it is very photogenic.
This is a biker man strolling into the scene (to give scale). I always like a person in both my urban and natural landscapes.
Raw file post processed in Rawtherapee. Auto Levels, Tone mapped and then a G'MIC mono film emulation of Ilford Delta 400 applied.
I then sent the file to GIMP to correct my converging verticals (not worked out how to do that in Rawtherapee yet) and then did a minor contrast adjustment.
Looks pretty good to my eyes. I am pleased with this :)
Nottingham lace is so famous & the best....very fashionable now too. Is any lace made here now Phil? Very smart photo.....your figure shows the scale of the buildings nicely too. Lovely lacy door!
@happypat thanks Pat, nottingham still has a few lace manufacturers , in fact I walk by a little outlet near school on my daily walk :) , not in the Lace Market, I may add
Love it Phil. I agree with you - I love to add somebody in my shots, too. The architecture is beautiful, too. I wish you could have a look at my posting of today. I dedicated today's joke to you.
