Alex in Mono

I've still got some model shots to share with you from last weeks model night at Arnold and District Camera Club.

Shot under studio lights at Arnold and District Camera Club. I've gone for a classic portrait pose with Alex looking over her right shoulder (apparently ladies portraits are better if they glance over the right shoulder as opposed to the left)

Edited in Rawtherapee, with an Agfa APX 25 film emulation

Manual : ISO 100, F7.1, 1/80th second

I wonder why! Right shoulder! But I do agree with the sideways look. This is very good with no shadows and showing her lovely hair!

Lovely. The choice of film emulation is perfect for this shot. Fav.

@frankhymus cheers frank much appreciated, high praise from one of 365's experienced photographers :)

@maggiemae thanks maggie, I have a colour pic that I will post as a filler next week as I don't want to clog up my photostream with too many modes next to each other in the month

Lovely the way her hair cascades. Her make up gives her almost a 70's look.

That's a very interesting fact about looking over shoulder thing. Fantastic shot...nicely done, she looks lovely.

You are really rocking with these shots Phil.....tough gig, huh? Lovely portrait of a lovely young woman!
February 25th, 2016
Excellent capture, Phil. This is funny that females look better if they look over their right shoulder than if they do that over the left one.

The eyes catch your eye as it were, but the tones in the hair are what I like.

I wonder if I could persuade any strangers to adopt any of these?! (In the warmer weather of course.) http://digital-photography-school.com/21-sample-poses-photographing-female-models/
