Serina Formal Pose

This is my last of my images for the flashofred2016 project.

I've managed to stick to the mono theme for most of February albeit with a couple of colour images sneeking in.

This is another shot from the camera club model shoot two weeks ago and is a slightly different shoot , in that is a full length shot rather than a portrait style.

Shot with my nifty 50 on my 60D and edited in Rawtherapee with an Ilford Pan F Plus 50 film emulation

I've tried to bring out the details in the dark clothes against the black background. I hope you think I've done a half decent job :)

I think you have seen all five models now, but I might slip a couple of fillers in in the next week or so
I think your models are all excellent - are they professional? I also like the dark clothes against the dark background as the chair makes a good contrast. All in all very impressive

@busylady the models are amateurs , just friends or colleagues of a few members. Camera club gives them a small fee for for their troubles and they get a portfolio of shots for free :)

The dark clothes are well shown even against the dark background. The light chair is a good foil. You have captured an elegant look from her. I notice that people who do a lot of b/w shots use another programme to process them rather than photoshop. Is it possible to get strong images just using that. Given of course that you have good basics in your shot to start with.

@jennywren Jen , I don't use Photoship ! I use open source editors (free editors provided by a community of developers , a bit like a cooperative) . I use Rawtherapee for editing my RAW files (and jpegs too) and GIMP for any fancy bots of editing like cloning atc. I did a talk at camera club last year trying to convert members to the freedom and free of payment world of open source. If you want links some good websites for open source editors let me know and I will send them to you (see profile for email) or I will just post them onto one of your photo comment boxes

An elegant and upright pose (considering that she is sitting that is) She seems very composed.
