"Why don't you come on over Valerie" ....Well that's what Nottingham singer songwriter Lisa Hendricks is asking the crowd as she points the microphone towards the crowd at Nottingham's Riverside festival to sing the chorus of the iconic song Valerie (written by the Zutons but probably made memorable by the late Amy Whitehouse)
Every Augsut the city of Nottingham puts on a free event over a long weekend along the banks of the River Trent. Street Artists, Musicians, Bands, Fun Fairs, something for everyone, from young to old.
Shot on my 60D with my sigma 70-300mm zoom. A cracking lens, but quite slow, so you need to bump up the ISO in shooting conditions like the one Lisa was in.
Fantastic photo Phil! Beautiful! I am going to be in Nottingham on Sunday, August 28. I am attending a film screening of Paa Joe & The Lion, a film that I backed as associate producer. It is being shown at the Broadway Cinema and Directed and Produced by two people from Nottingham. Here is the Facebook page regarding the event https://www.facebook.com/events/1012651355522412/ It would be fun to see you at this event! (Should be good photo taking)
Bet you had fun and got some good shots! The trams were heaving yesterday getting there. We were in town and never seen the Clifton line so busy! Saw them all setting up when took kids to embankment park for a play on Thursday.
I take it she was not part of the Pride parade, although at first I thought she was. Did you ask her to pose for you? This candid looks like she did. Fantastic as always.
