I've been doing a little project called URBAN, where I photograph , well URBAN. Some are architectural shots, some are streetie's, they all try to capture a bit of Urban everyday life.
This is Basford, the mini roundabout at the corner of Vernon Road and Nottingham Road, just across the road from the tram station . I've tried googling what this derelict building is, but to no avail. I thought it might be an old public conveniences, but looks too big and too many windows. It may have been something to do with the old trolley buses. I will keep digging.
Shot on my lunch time walk today, Sony A6000, Sony 50mm f1.8 nifty fifty.
I do like the greens and reds. Pity I couldn,t get that last window in on the left hand side
I am always drawn to an image like this — the solitary indivual against the textures and lines of architecture. You have done a lovely job of capturing his world weariness. A fav.
I love the colour contrasts - the reds and greens - and the guy in the middle is so full of character and interest. Is it a hill? Or just the angle you were standing? Feeling a desperate urge to straighten it a wee bit, but that's probably just OCD me LOL!!
@gamelee thanks lee , it was important to have a person in the shot
@allie912 thanks allison for your lovely and thoughtful comment
