Don't be alarmed by Kurt's expression , he wanted to pull some faces as I shot his stranger picture. He loved this one when I showed it to him on the back of the camera.
There's also a link between Kurt and my stranger number 60 , Rachel, but more about that later !
We went to Skegness today, the mandatory day trip to the seaside for all Nottingham folk.
My daughters came too , so it was an all family outing , with me Jane, Kirsty, Claire and Ruby (our whippet) making the two hour trip to Skeggy !
We walked a total of 11 coastal miles and had a nice picnic.
After the coastal walk we had a walk down Skeggy High Street as Jane was looking for accessories for her outfit for Claire's wedding.
I was stood outside New Look, with Ruby, while they went looking for bags and shoes
While I was waiting outside the shop, Kurt approached Ruby and asked if he could stroke her. We had a chat about rescue dogs and after the chat I thought Kurt would make a great stranger.
Kurt is a busker, he'd been busking up the road earlier in the day. He plays a mix of Reggae , Ska and Punk.
After I'd took Kurt's pic his girlfriend appeared and I took some pics of them together.
I gave Kurt a card and he said he would email me an EP of his music .
We shook hand and off I went to find Jane and my daughters, who'd wandered down the High Street after seeing me photographing Kurt
A few minute later I saw Kurt down the street and noticed he had a "Punk for the Homeless" logo on the back of his Denim Jacket. I told him I knew the lady who ran the charity as she was stranger number 60 in my 1st round of strangers. Kurt said he knows Rachel and her partner Eagle well and had been over to Nottingham a few weeks ago helping the charity.
The world of 100 strangers is quite a small one. Here I am photographing a stranger in Skegness, who knows my stragner number 60 from Nottingham !
Kurt invited me to his gig at a Skeggy pub on Saturday night. I explained I was only a day tripper so I couldn't accept his offer.
Oh and Kurt;s name, he's named after the late Kurt Kurbain.
Thank you for being strangers 158 Kurt, good luck with your busking.
