Russian Camera and Glass photographed with Russian Glass
This is my Russian Fed4 camera and Industar И-61 lens photographed with with a Russain Helios 44M-4 58mm f2 lens on my Sony A6000.
So you have Russian Camera and Glass photographed with Russian Glass
I bought the Fed4 camera and Industar И-61 lens at a vintage market in the Easter holidays. I wanted the "lens only" but bought them both as together they look rather beautiful.
I won't use the camera but the lens has produced some fabulous results for me. If you page "back" several photos through my photstream you will see how good it is
The Fed4 cameras are known as the “Comrades’ Leica” or “Soviet Leica” as they use Leica’s old L39 screw mount and many of the models have designs similar to early Leica cameras.
The Industar И-61 , was mass produced in the Ukraine and is a 53mm f2.8 prime . The lens gets excellent reviews, some respected reviewers call it a world class lens. Depending on the calibration during the production it can come in 50mm, 52 mm, 53mm and 55mm variants
The Helios 44M-4 58mm f2 lens used for this shot is also a well respected vintage lens, As you can see by the photo it has produced a pin sharp image with some lovely bokeh.
Oh and the camera came with the original handbook (seen in the foreground) and a lovely brown leather case.
Gotta admire you knowledge and experimentation for old cameras and glass. I like the look of this camera and lens, looks almost new. Good shot to Phil.
I am always amazed at your knowledge on cameras and lenses and how you use them. I have just 4 lenses and very often I am mixed up on how and when to use them. The camera looks beautiful in your shot.
Good to see a fellow 365er showing a proper camera! Very handsome! I feel the loss of ever-ready cases! I blame the rise of zoom lenses on their demise! I'll have to give you a fav!
I can certainly see the appeal of these old cameras, especially when you get one with a lovely leather case; modern camera bags, although probably more practical, just don't have that beauty, do they?
